FLAGSTAFF, AZ, April 26, 2018 – Forest Highlands Golf Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Eddie Matney as the club’s Executive Chef. One of the Valley’s most beloved culinary personalities, Chef Eddie is sure to please the members of Forest Highlands with his dynamic energy and renowned culinary style.
Bill Griffon, General Manager for Forest Highlands Golf Club shared the news, “Over the past six months, we have been working to find an Executive Chef that fits the culture of Forest Highlands, with the right leadership and skill set to enhance the culinary experience we offer our members. After reviewing resumes and meeting candidates, the team went back to Chef Eddie Matney and asked him to return, due to the stellar experience the members and staff had with him last summer. We are thrilled that he will bring his creativity, dynamic flavors, and larger than life personality to Forest Highlands!”

Chef Eddie Matney has built a loyal following thanks to his culinary talents and his devotion to the community. Well known for his philanthropic efforts, Matney was able to use his celebrity chef status to support numerous causes over the years. When he sold Eddie’s House after nearly 30 years in the restaurant scene in Phoenix, Chef Eddie joined Forest Highlands for the summer where members raved about his style and food.
Forest Highlands recently completed a $6.75 million renovation to both The Canyon and The Meadow Clubhouses. These upgrades included expanded and enhanced dining rooms where members and their guests will enjoy the culinary delights of Chef Eddie. The 1,100-acre community in Flagstaff continues to set the bar for gated communities in the Southwest. The community includes award-winning golf courses, tennis, an active, engaging club life, and access to the national forest.
